There are two things that I feel like Monetate has done for us that I haven’t seen anybody else be able to do for us and really made us a convert, in terms of being a big user and proponent of using Monetate on our site. One was the easy migration. I think we have been pitched as a company by several different companies about how easy it is to get up and running. But the fact of the matter is there is this fixed amount of integration work that has to happen both from our business side and our IT team to actually get a tag implemented or get a configuration set up to actually get up and going.
We were surprised and delighted with the ease of how we were able to implement the Monetate tag. They handed us the one-page documentation, we handed it to our IT team, they handed it back to us and said, “You don’t need us. You can do this yourself.”
And then in an hour, we had implemented it up on the site. Literally. So we often checked it just to make sure, but we were really able to do the implementation without any IT resources, although they were there in case we failed.
The other piece of it—and quite frankly—this is the piece that has the greatest impact for us, is the way Monetate can insert content dynamically on any page on our site. Our site, probably like any other ecommerce retailer, is complicated. We have some pages that are completely customized jobs. We can do whatever we want with them. And there are some pages that are heavily system-driven, heavily connected to our back-end system and aren’t very flexible. Not easy to insert content here on this day and not have it there the next day.
And so for Monetate to literally be able to insert content anywhere in the site without us having to modify our page templates is a huge resources saver for us. It removes the major barrier for testing for us, because we can test on any page, not just the pages where we control the contents of the business.
So, the ease of immigration and the dynamic content insertion are two things that differentiate the solution from others that we have looked at.
