So one of the big, low-hanging fruit pieces for us? Well, there are a couple of different ways that Monetate has helped us. The first piece is through optimization. It’s streamlining certain processes. It’s messaging around the cart process. It’s tapping into different discount promotions that we are running, getting that relevant information in front of someone sooner.
Then past that, on the marketing side of things, a really easy one that we did, that we were shocked at how fast we could get live on the site, was around international purchasing. So someone comes in the site from Canada—we send a ton of products to Canada—you know we’re going to say Welcome! and Bonjour!. And we are going to let them know how happy we are to ship to Canada, for free, over a certain threshold. Rather than someone Canadian coming in and guessing, putting things in the cart, and then saying, “Do they have international checkout?”
On the first page view that they have with us, they can know, wow, not only do I see my flag, I see messaging that is relevant to who I am, and I know that anything that I look for in the site, I know I will be able to complete my purchase without jumping through any extraneous hoops, or that there’s a mechanism there that caters to me as an international customer.
That’s the benefit but then also to have folks within Monetate who are thinking about who my core audience is, that I am keeping up to speed on the things that we are doing in different marketing challenges, that they can start to recommend different ideas that they have—knowing their platform better than we do. Things that would be either an easy fit or an easy and quick implementation that they can drive for us. So the holding hands and both the turnkey as well as self-directed approach, that’s a big plus in being successful and as flexible as we are.
