4 Winning Strategies for Retail and EcommerceWhat if you could double the conversion rate for 20% of your site traffic? What if there were 4 basic geo-targeting and content continuity strategies that could be counted on to improve average order value? You’d want to know, right?

We thought so and that is why we have put together a whitepaper that tells you what you need to know about 4 website marketing strategies voted “most likely to succeed.” These are 4 practical best practices by which online retailers–and other eCommerce websites–can quickly improve website conversion rates and revenues without cutting margins. The whitepaper can be downloaded free of charge from here:

4 Winning Strategies for Online Retailers

So you might be wondering who said these strategies are most likely to succeed. The answer is Brett Bair, Monetate’s Chief Strategist. We asked Brett to create this list based on the results of thousands of website tests and marketing campaigns overseen by Monetate’s Strategic Services Team. However, in the whitepaper we have taken a “vendor-neutral” approach to describing these strategies. In other words, you do not have to use Monetate to pursue these strategies.

And you do not need to be an online retailer to gain some valuable information from this document. Several of the strategies can be applied to any site that is looking to improve conversion rates. If you are a retailer and you’ve been watching the industry press, you might be thinking “2010 is going to be a good season anyway, we have our holidays promotions lined up, why would we want to do anything else?”

The answer is simple and there are two ways to put it: a. Good is not great and I’m assuming you’d rather be great than good, b. You could lose business to your competitors if they deploy these strategies and you don’t. With one recent survey saying that 44% of shoppers plan to do their holiday gift buying on the Internet this year, compared to 37% in 2009, it does indeed look like 2010 will be a good year, but that means there is more to play for. Check out these 4 strategies to make sure you’re on a level playing field.

(Note: If you are not yet a Monetate customer and would like to use Monetate to deploy these strategies, please email Marc Hatton and ask for details–that’s mhatton at monetate dot com–because Monetate can be up and running on your site within days, without interfering with your seasonal operations. In fact, we will soon be announcing several big names in retail that have just signed up with Monetate, for just that reason.)
